On 2nd of May a 54-foot rubber duck made its grand entrance into Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour.
The Rubber Duck is an artistic project of the dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. The sculpture won’t be a permanent feature of Hong Kong’s landscape, but the duck will be on display until June 9.
"The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn't discriminate people and doesn't have a political connotation. The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them. The rubber duck is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages! The work has traversed global waters since 2007 and could be seen in St. Nazaire (FR), Sao Paulo (BR), Auckland (NZ), Hasselt (BE),Osaka and Hiroshima (JP), Sydney (AUS), Nürnberg (DE), Amsterdam (NL) and more places."
