Now in Shanghai there's Renzo Piano first exibhition "PIECE BY PIECE" at
Shanghai Power Station of Art - a huge 5 floors building with a big
termometer up, placed in the middle of nowhere near the river and the
Expo 2010 pavillons that now are a big playground for kids.
I entered in person in two buildings designer by him: Postdamer Platz complex in Berlin and the Auditorium Parco della Musica in my hometown Rome. I never studied contemporary architecture by as citizen who lived events in those space, i saw them as big extentions of our coscience, somewhere to listen evening in music in Rome or somewhere for an afternoon beer together in Berlin, i also think that places are made for person and viceversa. The workshop was really crowded with lots of young chinese fascinated by those projects, maybe i was the only very proud italian that was there that day.
Shanghai Power Station of Art (and its big termometer in function: 25°)
Potsdamer Plaz, Berlin (i've been there and Renzo really used this weird shade of yellow)
Auditorium del Parco, L'Aquila, Italy, build after the 2009 heartwake to give people back a collective space
Outside a big bridge: it's China or USA?
Musem terrace and weird fake birds
Views of the river and the EXPO pavillons from museum terrace
Design Center buildings from Expo 2010, right now offices or shops in the other side of the road.
